BIG MARLEY’S UFC 229 DRAFT KINGS FANTASY BREAKDOWN

This weekend we have the biggest contest we’ve ever observed for DraftKings MMA. We’ve got a $10 entry competition with $300,000 in total prizes, and $100,000 of that to 1st place. I never thought we would observe a 6-figure 1st place prize for MMA but I was wrong and I can not wait to pursue it. Conor McGregor vs Khabib Nurmagomedov is going to be the biggest fight in UFC history and DraftKings just made it bigger for us DFS players. We are down to 12-fights therefore that we could see a range of ties for that 1st place prize, so strive to be different with your lineups someplace, or make wages on the dining table to differ in that way. With that said, here are a few plays I like this weekend along with my fade of this week:
Cash Game play of the week — Vicente Luque ($9,400)
Luque is the”safest” drama on the card with a good margin at his -900 gaming lineup. I love plugging in those high odds guys in cash so I can lock a triumph in there and worry about locating 3 other wins from my 5 other areas. We generally only want 4 wins in money games to win against the money line, so that’s what I shoot for in these 50/50 or double up games. Luque has been quite remarkable in his UFC conduct and he has overcome some pretty big names. On paper, this is one of his simplest matches nonetheless. In addition, he has large time upside with his finishing possible. He’s got an ITD line of -270, so I think we could have 100+ points within this triumph. He’s a fantastic play in most formats, however he is going to be chalky in championships, so that’s why he is my cash play of this week instead.
GPP drama of the week — Alexander Volkov ($8,700)
Heavyweights are almost always excellent to target in GPPs because it just takes 1 shot with a lot of those men. I believe that this is a good matchup for Volkov and he’s only priced at $8.7k weekly. If he can get a 1st round KO at the price, he’ll likely be on the winning LU. Same goes for Lewis, so he’s a good GPP play as well. But, my pick to win will be Volkov and I enjoy his price. I think a few men priced above him this week will be much more possessed, therefore we could get a heavyweight favored at lower possession here. Fight Doesn’t Go To Decision is presently lined at -190, so this is a fantastic GPP fight to aim over all. If you like the Black Beast to find the W, then he’s a good fighter to throw in your GPP LUs.
Underdog drama of this week — Tony Martin ($7,400)
Here is the best odds worth on the card. Presently, Laflare is lined at -135 and Tony Martin is lined at +115. However, on DraftKings Laflare is priced $1,400 higher than Martin. I love searching online worth like that and that alone puts Martin in drama in most formats. Martin also has got the much better odds to end this fight ITD, so that is another plus with him. I like the floor for Martin in money games as well because Laflare isn’t likely to complete if he wins. So, at $7.4k, we could afford a reduction from Martin and just take the points he can rack up in 15-minutes.
Fade of the week — Sergio Pettis ($8,600)
Sergio Pettis could definitely get the win here. However, he’s going to have to get a end to repay his $8.6k price tag. Sergio will not be going for any takedowns in this battle, and he doesn’t strike at a high enough speed for him to find 10x of the $8.6k. Sergio are the better fighter around the feet, but when he doesn’t get a finish then he likely only scores 60-70 points at a win. Those low scores do not cut it at $8.6k. There are only better plays points each dollar and those are the men I will be targeting. Sergio is a solid fade if you’re making 20 or less lineups this weekend.
